2008 Show

There was a noticeable increase in the number of foreign visitors to the show. Word is spreading!

A good crowd enjoyed the band “Oak” on the Friday evening in the Cedric Ford Pavilion. On Saturday night, a capacity crowd rocked to a great disco and were treated to an amazing performance from Just 4 Kicks, who were joined by Little Willie. The traditional empty glasses “pile them high to the ceiling” competition, as usual, caused much cheering, oooohs and aaaaaaahs.

The Cars for Sale area had a good variety of cars and business was good. Classic and American cars and special one offs also attended in numbers.

We would like to thank the clubs for putting on fantastic displays of their much loved cars. The Quantum owners club celebrated 18 years of the club. Amazingly Ginetta Owners Club celebrated 50 years of Ginetta Cars. Quality and quantity were on show throughout the club stands.

The shield for the Best Club attendance went to a new club for the first time in many a year. The TVR Car Club were the winners this year. On Sunday we were treated to the sight and sound of over 100 TVR's starting their engines and setting off in convoy to tour the local area, returning an hour later - an amazing sight.

The Car Pull competition was won by the "Jago A Team", just beating last years winners "The Mob" (members of the Newark events team).

The model car racing organised by (Newark R.C.C.C) Newark Radio Control Car Club had a full two days of racing and had the prizes presented by Miss Kit Car.

The shield for best model display awarded in honour of the late Ken Musson was presented to Steve Haw for his working model railway.

Thanks to the Country Crafts Association for once again organising a great craft hall with high quality crafts of all kinds.

The winners of the Dreams in Reality raffle were:-
1st Prize - Flying Lesson - Mr Booth - Pink Ticket 906-910
2nd Prize - Champagne - Mr Bill Anderson - Green Ticket 21-25
