Disabled Visitors
The Showground which is located on an old airfield, is flat and has good facilities for disabled visitors. Use the public car parking, as it is close to the new hall. We instruct our car parking staff to reserve some disabled parking spaces close to the Public Entrance. Please ask the staff for advice.
The showground is serviced with good tar macadam roads and this is the case for the link between the entrance and the main hall, which should be good for wheel chair users. The main exhibition hall complies with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995(DDA) ramps to the entrance, wide doors etc. are all in place. There are disabled toilets on site at the Public Entrance, Joe Hallam, and the Cedric Ford Building where the cafe is also located, as well as in the outside toilet blocks.
If you are camping the camping area is inside the showground. You can pick a good spot that will give you good access to tarmac roads which are good for wheel chairs. The best place is probably up near the public entrance, please see the camping plan on the downloads page.
